HOW TO FACE THE INTERVIEW BOARD

Interview is the final doorstep to the glory of beautiful journey to become a civil servant. Whether candidate is applying for IAS , IFS IRS , IFoS Etc. services he /she has to face the interview panel. UPSC civil services examination is a one chance game in whole procedure of prelims , mains and interview.
In Layman language it is described as three stages as stated above but officially it is prelims and mains + interview counted as two stages.
Nearly 5 lakh aspirants apply for this exam but only 800-1000 are selected .The personality test gives the final glimpse to doorway of success , social dignity , power , satisfaction , perks and much more. Interview call is given to 2500-3000 candidates between months of March to May. It organises everyday several boards headed by UPSC expertise comprising 4 to 5 members of different fields.
The whole interview is held in purposeful manner. They seek to look into the broad thinking of a candidate , they ask questions related to DAF (detailed application form).What board usually endeavours to seek in candidates’ sincerity of purpose, judgement skills , reasoning prowess , analytically in wholistic way and approach , awareness about national and international happenings , concern for socio economic issues and problems, presence of mind , ability to intellect etc.
Here is the practical approach:
START YOUR PREPARATION EARLY Within week after mains , start reading newspapers and magazines .Mostly candidates wait for mains result to come out , then wait for interview call and then start their preparation for interview. As stated “ Early bird catches the worm” so a candidate need to pull the trigger as soon as possible. Start reading the economic survey of 2 years as they ask questions related to economic budgets from 2 separate years .Start reading about your hobbies mentioned in DAF , graduation course related questions , why you want to become IAS/IFS /IRS? They need a person that can hold good for taking responsibilities , has good reasoning and analytical skills , substance of deep thoughts and to implement them in practical sorted out ways.
MAKING CONCISE LOGICAL NOTES make notes from different notes that could make some sense and be helpful in building up your personality skills.Before making any note read it at-least 3 times because every time what someone have read implicates the different tone of understatement. If the readable material are relevant make note out of it , use concise and lucid language. One can use abusive /funny/slang language just to remember the stuff .Note down the salient points in notebook manually or in laptop or cellphone whatever a person desires.  Does the viewpoint conform to logic and reasoning ? Does it have to do something with present problems in society and is there any link of problem with constitutional framework?
TELEVISION AND INTERNET UP FOR DEBATES: Listen carefully to debates , budgets and person in news debates’ as it is helpful to build up the ideas for viewpoint on several ethical socio ,economic, historical , environment concentrated topics .Go governmental news channels like rajya sabha and  lok sabha which constitutes viewpoints of eminent news host and knowledgeable people. They describe each and every point in detail with possible solution . Watching debates is not only for interview but can help in essay for mains paper. Don’t  dig much for articles in internet as internet is addictive and time consuming.
WIDEN HORIZONS In this phase one need read several inspirational personalities like Mahatma Gandhi , APJ Abdul Kalam , Shaheed Bhagat singh , freedom fighters Mangal Pandey etc. they help in widen their horizons and make a person how valuable is life of Indian spirit and whole together the nation itself is  at the utmost priority.
DEALING WITH ANXIETY: Aspirants face anxiety and depression during this phase of preparation as they have devoted whole one year towards this , it’s natural .They need to meet out their loved ones , friends and relatives . They should do jogging and normal walking , never go for new hobbies . Reach out senior members or retired officers and discuss their experiences in their bureaucracy. This would help them reach relax  their  minds and to reach their destiny and goals .
